132. Chappie

So after loving District 9 and really trying to enjoy Elysium, Neill Blomkamp seems to be on a similar career trajectory as Jason Reitman.

While Chappie maintains Blomkamp's visual and technical prowess, it has massive holes in the logic (the main supplier of robot policeman has no security whatsoever?) and a depressingly infantile script.

It's tonally all over the shop and real fucking mess. Here's hoping he doesn't write the script for the Alien Sequel.

111. Working Girl

Big hair and warm hearts are the order of the day for this working class girl comes good tale featuring Melanie Griffith, Han Solo and Ripley.

Really reminds you how bad hair was in the 80's.

4. Alien (Directors Cut)

"Yeah, just lower yourself down and grab a couple of those eggs. Lovely grub!"

What is there left to say about one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time?

Not much, other than this version features Dallas all slimed up in alien goo and then getting burnt up by Ripley - initially I thought this was a bit of a naff looking puppet but after watching one of the many excellent 'makings ofs' featured on this Blu-Ray Quadrilogy, it turns out it was Tom Skerritt after all - just looking really ill and 'puppety'.

Perhaps that's why Ridley Scott decided to ditch the scene initially. Anyway please, please, please make sure that Prometheus isn't shit. Come on Ridley I know you can do it!
